So, I’m curious…

A discovery series by Shereen Darwish
Career woman · Producer · Professional question asker
I try the things most of us talk ourselves out of, and show you what really happens. I’m Shereen: 48, career woman, 20+ years producing other people’s stories, and finally starring in my own. Pull up a chair.

Then you’re my people. Come find out what happens when we stop waiting.

As in: “Why did you book that?”Curiosity made me do it.
Somewhere along the way we were taught that asking too many questions is rude. Wondering about someone’s story, how something is made, or what a place is really like got filed under “none of your business.”
Here, it’s the whole point. Nosy, done with kindness, is just curiosity with good manners and a follow up question.
I’m not nosy. I’m just curious.Okay. Maybe a little nosy.
Growth happens when curiosity becomes stronger than our fear of the unfamiliar.that’s the whole idea.
Which is a slightly unhinged thing to volunteer for. I was curious what it would say, and I expected a laugh. What stuck with me instead was the gap between everything I’m interested in and how often I talk myself out of actually doing it.
That one landed. I’ve spent more than 20 years producing stories, interviewing people, and helping other people show up on camera. Yet there I was, staring at my own phone and wondering why this felt so awkward.
I’m 48, in a new stage of life, with a running list of things I want to learn and experience. Travel. Photography. Fashion. Editing. Meeting people and asking them questions. Sometimes I research things so thoroughly that the research becomes the activity.
I’ve also lived enough life to know that waiting for the perfect time doesn’t guarantee it comes. I’ve been through hard things, including breast cancer. But I don’t want this to be a story about hardship. I want it to be about what I do with the curiosity I still have.
So I started Curiosity Made Me Do It. It’s not a declaration that I’m suddenly fearless. I’m literally learning to talk to my own phone.
I know how to tell a story. I’m learning how to be in one.
If you’ve got something you keep putting off, pick one tiny version of it and try.So, I’m curious… what’s yours?
For more than two decades I’ve built a career in global marketing in the life sciences industry. I lead product launches, produce educational video series, and create events and content for the forensic science community: the scientists who use DNA to help identify people and bring answers to families.
That work taught me how to ask good questions, respect people’s stories, and get the facts right before I say them out loud. I bring all of that here.
I’m not trading my career for content. I’m a working woman with a full life who decided to stop putting her curiosity on hold, and I’m going to show you what that actually looks like.
Trust matters more to me than reach. So here it is, plainly: I want to show you what happens when a busy, grown woman follows her curiosity for real, and invite you to do the same with yours.

A discovery series. I go places, try things, ask people questions, and share what actually happened. Honest attempts, real reactions, and the occasional failure, left in.
I’m not a life coach, a therapist, or an expert in reinvention. I won’t promise to change your life, and I won’t pretend every moment is a lesson. Sometimes it’s just a great meal.
I’m building this into a real business: brand partnerships, a paid group experience, maybe curated trips one day. I won’t be coy about that. When money is involved in anything I share, I’ll tell you clearly. Every time.
agree, argue, or tell me I’m wrong in the comments.
I know what I like, what I don’t, and exactly how much time I’ve spent waiting. That’s an advantage.
I can plan a trip, a class, a whole new life in a dozen browser tabs. None of it counts until I go.
Big transformations get talked about. Small experiments actually get done.
I’ve produced the glossy version for 20 years. The awkward first take is the one people remember.
Asking the second question tells someone they’re worth being curious about.
Every adult should be a beginner at something. It’s humbling, and it’s weirdly fun.
Disagree? Good. Tell me why. That’s half the fun.
Apparently my excuses needed an outside editor.
every episode starts with a real question.
What makes this place worth discovering?
So, I’m curious… what’s it actually like?
What was it actually like to be there?
So, I’m curious… what should I order?
What happens when I give this a try?
So, I’m curious… could I do this?
What can I learn from this person?
So, I’m curious… what made you do that?
Did this change how I see something?
What am I learning about what comes next?
What do we all think and rarely say?
I want to be seen. I hate being watched.
The flagship series. Safari, the Serengeti, Zanzibar, and the people and questions I didn’t expect to bring home.
Every first attempt is a little awkward. Mine just happen to be on camera. The goal isn’t to be good at it yet. The goal is to find out what happens when you try.

The point isn’t a dramatic reinvention. It’s finding out what happens when you try.
